Are your website updates still being tested in production?

Your staging site never quite matches the real one, so the real test happens after you publish. With Upsun, you check every change on a copy of production — same data, same configuration — before it goes live. We support you from the move through day-to-day operations.

Every site runs a different way

Only the person who built it knows how it runs.

With Upsun

Every site on one platform, one way of working.

What Upsun is

Upsun is a cloud application platform (PaaS) for websites and apps. It takes care of servers and setup, so your team can spend its time on making the site better. Formerly Platform.sh, it runs sites for companies, universities and public bodies worldwide.

How it works, in three steps.

STEP 01

Push your code

Just git push. Your server setup travels with it as config.yaml.

STEP 02

Upsun builds it

It reads the config and assembles the runtime — PHP, database, search and more — automatically.

STEP 03

It goes live

The main branch deploys to production. Each pull request gets a preview environment with live data and its own URL.

Open a pull request and the same flow runs again — as often as you like, without touching production.

Change safely. Grow without downtime.

Handle traffic spikes without downtime

When traffic spikes, add instances without taking the site down. CPU and memory per environment can be changed in minutes too.Changing CPU or memory redeploys the environment, with a short downtime.

Ready for security review

SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001 and PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Deployed files are read-only, and data is encrypted in transit and at rest.Review documents are in Upsun's Trust Center. The OVHcloud FR-3 region is outside these certifications.

Your choice of cloud

Run on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OVHcloud and more, without being locked to any one of them.Available clouds depend on the region. The nearest to Japan, Australia, offers AWS and Azure.

"The GitHub integration, the creation of those UAT sites: we didn't have that before, so that really was a huge game-changer for us."

Frequently asked questions

QIs this different from Platform.sh?

It's the same company — Platform.sh is now called Upsun. If you're on Platform.sh today, we can help you move or review your setup.

QCan our data stay in Japan?

Not today — Upsun has no Japan region. The nearest in Asia-Pacific is Australia. If your policies require data to stay in Japan, we'll propose other platforms that can.

QIs support available in Japanese?

Upsun's own support is primarily in English. Urgent incidents are handled 24/7; response hours for other requests depend on your support plan. Genero acts as your Japanese-language desk on weekdays and handles the conversation with Upsun for you when needed.

QDo you have documents for our security review?

Upsun holds SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001 and PCI DSS Level 1, with documents in its Trust Center. Genero itself is ISO/IEC 27001 and 27017 certified, and we can help with your review questionnaire.

QWill the site go down during the move?

We verify everything on Upsun first, then switch DNS. We plan for no downtime; on sites with constant content changes we may ask for a short content freeze.
